Pointing a domain hosted by another site
-
Hello,
I have a domain hosted by another site. I have been advised that rather than transferring the domain I should point it to wordpress so that I don’t lose my webmail account and that in order to do this, I need the pointing records. Could anyone tell me how I can get these?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Howdy –
You can do this through domain mapping. Here are the detailed instructions: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/
Let me know if you run into any trouble!

Thanks Liz.
Just to clarify- Is this option only available with a prenium account or would I be able to do this on a personal account or by paying for the domain mapping separately?

Good Morning –

You can map a domain with WordPress.com Personal Plan. It’s the most affordable option. The domain mapping is not available as a stand alone upgrade.
The first step is to add the plan from here. Once you have it added to your account click on My Sites > Domains > Map it!
