Pointing an existing domain to my word press domain

  Hello,

  I purchased a domain from web.com as: VenitaElaine.com. I want to have that domain point to SewVeStyle in the event that someone looks for the business under that name. I read through the faq’s but could not find the answer to this particular question.

  Also, does email come with my purchased WordPress domain? I’d like to have a link on the blog that is not my gmail acct. I’d like it to read: (email visible only to moderators and staff) ….. How can I do that?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi Venita,

  What you can do is add a Domain Mapping upgrade ($13/year) and point to that your sewvestyle.wordpress.com site. Then, set your primary domain to sewvestyle.com. That mean any other domain (including VenitaElaine.com) will point to sewvestyle.com.

  We don’t provide email hosting, but you can add custom records for your email host if you decide to get one:

  If you don’t want full email hosting, we allow up to 5 email forwards:

  Email Forwarding

  This will allow you to set up a forward (e.g. (email visible only to moderators and staff)) and this will forward all emails to one of your current emails.

  Thank you for the quick response. SewVeStyle.com is my primary domain which I purchased from WordPress. Are you saying that all I need to do is purchase the mapping upgrade and VenitaElaine.com will automatically point to SewVeStyle?

  You will need to purchase the domain mapping and then update the nameservers to:

  • NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
  • NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
  • NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
