Pointing domain

  Hi there,
  I am pretty frustrated with the level of support from word press, especially since now I am paying them for my domain. I am not super “tech” savy, but feel like I can hold my own. Today I upgraded to have my domain be http://www.pippinspics.com rather that http://www.pippinspics.wordpress.com
  I followed all the instructions to point my domain (through godaddy) to the wordpress site.
  Except now when I type in http://www.pippinspics.com it still goes to my old site (which has a splash page for site and blog) and I can’t seem to enter my blog at all … even when I put in my old wordpress.com address..
  Some one please help!! Thanks

  Hi. Did you follow the instructions here?
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/
  Pay close attention to the part near step 1 where it says how long it takes for changes to be effective.

  A whois shows your name still pointing not to WordPress.COM, that is the first thing you need to fix: That is done over at your Registrar (Godaddy)

  Thank you SO much! Is there any way you could walk me through how to do this.. I am not having any luck figuring it out… I would be SO grateful!

  I have never changed anything at Godaddy so any help other than to advise you to log in to your account for the domain registration and find the tab that says “update name servers” would be not such a good thing.

  There should be a help forum at Godaddy somewhere as well as at lest minimal instructions, I am just not sure where they are.

  Oh I think I was reading this wrong. I did update the name servers to what WordPress has specified in the directions above…

  This is showing that some name servers are changing: http://www.whatsmydns.net/#NS/pippinspics.com

  Did you follow the instructions exactly as @airodesy posted above? It can take 24 to 72 hours for changes to migrate across the internet, however changes usually start after a few hours but there can be problems with local ISP caching issues.
