pointing domain from Wix to wordpress

  I wish to transfer my domain name from Wix.com to wordpress and it is not allowing me to use the domain mapping option (as advised by WordPress), which I paid for.

  Wix has e-mailed me a transfer code which is:
  hta542954+?

  Wix only allows me to edit the IP address of where the domain points to, but not the Name Servers. From reading others’ questions, I realize that WordPress IP addresses are not static.

  My domain is sashaopeiko.com and I wish to point it to http://sashaopeiko.wordpress.com/

  Hi there,

  Unfortunately domains cannot be transferred in to WordPress.com, and you are correct, you can only point your domain at us through the use of nameservers (not IP addresses).

  At this point, I would suggest transferring your site to a third party registrar. There are any number of reputable ones out there who provide fantastic service. There was an article which the online tech magazine Lifehacker did, which rated the top 5:

  It’s a couple of years old, but it might be a good place to start!
