Pointing name server to new host (Bluehost)
-
I need to change my name server to point to Bluehost, however when i follow the instructions provided by WP, I am not seeing the same prompts as the screen shot instructions. Instead when I go into My Domain – Edit Domain, I only see two buttons; Email and Edit DNS. I click on Edit DNS and I’m given options to edit Existing DNS Records; A, NS, and CNAME. None of these options are listed on the WP instructions for transferring name servers and I am totally lost as to how to proceed. Any assistance with this matter is greatly appreciated. Thank you, Shara.

Hey there, Shara!
Are you referring to the domain, gtyme2eat.com? If so, it is not registered with us and is actually up for sale now. You could simply register the domain fresh at Bluehost, and you won’t have to worry about mapping. You do have the domain mapping package here at WordPress.com for gtyme2eat.com, however. So, you can cancel that if your domain is hosted on the same servers as your website.
If you are referring to another domain name, please let me know and I can help further.
Many thanks!

Hi Robyn, thank you so much for the quick response. It is much appreciated.
The domain name is actually Tyme2eat.com (not gtyme2eat.com) and it is registered with WP and expires on August 17, 2015.
Tyme2eat.com is mapped to gaiagoodnessnaturalfood.wordpress.com, which is what shows up in the browser. The only “Edit” button that appears in “My Domains”, shows up next to tyme2eat.com. That is the “Edit” button I click when I am taken to the “Existing DNS Records” screen.
Domain name gaiagoodnessnaturalfoods.com, also originally registered under WP, will be switched over to Bluehost. If that helps. Let me knwo if you have any other questions.
Many thanks,
Shara

Hey Shara!
Sorry for the typo :) I intended to type tyme2eat.com.
Your mapping for tyme2eat.com expires at WordPress.com on August 17, 2015. However, you domain appears to be registered with LaunchPad. Here’s a link to that public info:
http://who.is/whois/tyme2eat.com
And here’s a link to your upgrades page at WordPress.com, which displays domain mapping, but not registration:
https://gaiagoodnessnaturalfood.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=my-upgrades
You are welcome to cancel the mapping upgrade at any time. This will disconnect your domain from your WordPress.com site (gaiagoodnessnaturalfood.wordpress.com).
Domain name gaiagoodnessnaturalfoods.com, also originally registered under WP, will be switched over to Bluehost.
That’s no problem. I see that registration. If you need a guide to walk you through the process, it’s right here:

Hi Robyn. I am still unable to figure out how to transfer my name servers. I am not seeing the same prompts or screens suggested in the instruction thread you forwarded me to. Below is a copy of the screen I see after going to Store > My Domains > Edit. Also the Edit button only shows up next to tyme2eat.com. Not sure if that’s the issue since that domain is up for sale?
DNS
Existing DNS Records
A tyme2eat.com handled by WordPress.com
NS tyme2eat.com handled by WordPress.com
CNAME *.tyme2eat.com handled by WordPress.com -

Ah! Terrific. So, it sounds like you’re all set, but if you need anything else, let me know. Thank you.
