POINTING TO BLUEHOST
-
I have 2 Domains registered with you: pkgracieblog.net and petergracieblog.net I aloso have a blog: pkgracie.wordpress.com. As a newboy to websites, I then discovered that to aaccess the blog I had to enter it into the address bar of the browser – so It was not accessible to the search engine. To make it accessible, I needed a host. So I got an account with BlueHost (as rccomnended by you) and wish to change the nameservers on pkgracieblog.net to point to ns1.bluehost.com and ns2.bluehost,com. YOUR GENERALISATIONS DO NOT WORK FOR ME. Can you please help with specific instructions?

Hi there,
I can actually change your nameservers for you if you’d like. If you could just specify which of your domains (or both if you’d prefer) you’d like changed to have ns1.bluehost.com and ns2.bluehost.com, I can switch them over for you!

Thank you for your offer.
Please change pkgracieblog.net to point to ns1.bluehost.com and ns2.bluehost,com.
It would also be helpful if you could give me the specific instructions to what you did, so that I will not have to bother you next time.Regards.

OK, those have been updated. It will generally take between 1 and 48 hours for those changes to propagate throughout the internet.
As for what I did, I followed the instructions which are included here:
But in short, I:
1) Went to your Dashboard.
2) Went to Store >> Domains
3) Went to the dropdown menu and selected Make Changes to DNS
4) Set a new password and clicked Save
5) Went to the dropdown menu again and selected Make Changes to DNS
6) Copied your Customer Number and then clicked the link to open the domain interface with our domain partners.
7) Logged in with your customer number and the password I had created.
8) Clicked on your domain name.
9) Clicked on your nameservers.
10) Changed the nameservers to ns1.bluehost.com and ns2.bluehost.com
11) Clicked OK.That’s it!

Thank you.
I reached stage 3 of your instructions and was confronted by the following gobbledygook:
MX 10 MAIL1.EXAMPLE.COM
MX 20 MAIL 2.EXAMPLE.COM
Etc.,etc.Save DNS records
This is what I meant by YOUR GENERALISATIONS DO NOT WORk FOR ME. You skate over all this with ‘4) Set a new password and clicked Save’. (At no stage was I asked to change my password.)
If it is your policy to keep all this secret and confusing please say so —
I was merely looking to alter ns1. wordpress.com to ns1 bluehost.com, etc. Silly me! I forgot I was dealing with the Wild West Web.Regards.
