pointing to wordpress/index.html does not work?
-
Note: This is about a Word Press install, on my own private server
I have a word press blog installed; previously I was using movable type. The issue is that I have links that go to mydomain/myblog/index.html. I wanted to basically have my wordpress directory be the new destination for this same URL, however this does not work. Even though there is an index.html in the wordpress directory, it does not work and the browser returns a not found error every time. When I point it at mydomain/wordpress it resolves correctly.
The problem with changing the things that point to it the old way is a few of these things are hard coded into flash files (the nav on my old site is actually made of Flash)… so deleting the index.html from the URL string is not an option.
Thanks for any assistance you can provide!
Sean
