We now how to manage our blogs and we now what is good for them

We do? /me takes a quick look at the 5,000+ threads here and asks “Wanna bet?” What’s your degrees in? What’s your experence?

All other blogs services allow html edition, javascript, ajax, ads etc.

And they all get hacked and defaced and whatnot. Is that what you want for your blog?

Only wordpress keeps with this nonsense of restricting our freedom in our own blogs.

And they’re the only ones who don’t have the problems the other services have.

    Your ignorance is showing.

At least you guys should grant some kinds of permissions to some users. or put on some partnerships with some services like vizu or other pool services. Or if you guys really DONT WANT javascript PLEASE give us a pool widget.

Since I did not find alternatives, I am still using that same freaking luckypolls. It is okay to get the general views but it sucks when it comes to displaying results and storing them. They don’t store it…

  • Unknown's avatar

Is that maybe an issue to take up with luckypolls? If you use them regularly, they should listen to you.

  • Unknown's avatar

I really don’t have the energy to pursuade them to change the poll to my liking, but I would love to get a free-ride if anyone takes the effort.

hehe…I am selfish, ain’t I? Well, the world is selfish, people accuse Mother Teresa for being selfish…she worked for her satisfaction-the only difference being that she was happy to see others happy…confusing huh?

Drmike and his reply to “All other blogs services allow html edition, javascript, ajax, ads etc.”

Drmike said “And they all get hacked and defaced and whatnot. Is that what you want for your blog?”

Ja,ja,ja,ja… It’s our problem? Increase the security.
In other case, are guns prohibited in EEUU???

  • Unknown's avatar

Disallowing embeds and javascript IS increasing the security, as you will understand if you re-read the thread.

Dr Mike is an American and presumably has relatively free access to firearms…are you suggesting he get some to protect your blog?

  • Unknown's avatar

Disallowing embeds and javascript are the only method to increase the security? ;-)

Why don’t turn off the computers? Is more secure than disable javascript.

  • Unknown's avatar

And im not sure that guns are the best way to protect my blog ( like Irak…)

  • Unknown's avatar

I just took a look at “luckypolls” and I really don’t know what is so bad about it? You can make a poll in to your sidebar and people can vote on it. Nothing lasts for ever…

how in the world does dr. mike incorporate polls on daria.be without it being a security risk there?

  • Unknown's avatar

He is running WordPress MU on his own web host. There he can do whatever he wants because he is not hosted on wordpress.com. He would have to tell you why he runs it (security risk or not).

And Matt has asked us not to discuss other WPMu installs here as well.

You would have to ask staff for the specific reasons as to why they haven’t added in polls here. On my install, it adds in tables to the database and, IMHO, staff seems to stay away from functions that add tables to the database. (Forums add in tables as well) Outside polls are not allowed due to them usually being forms and those have the security risks. (I don’t allow them either.)

hmm, many thanks for the reply, when is the fjord theme coming to daria?

And Matt has asked us not to discuss other WPMu installs here as well.

    Working on plugins today actually.

my apologies, that seems to make sense, guerrilla advertising otherwise
