polls

How do I get my poll to show up on the blog once I’ve created it?
-
Thank you, this is helpful. The problem I’m having is that the “send to editor” button does not appear anywhere on my screen.
-
the “publish” dialogue box on the right has a button inside it that says “save poll” but when I click that it does not show up on the blog. When I try to edit it, I still cannot see any “send to editor” button as shown in the example shown that wordpress provided on the link.

@vinestreet
When you create the poll are you doing it from the Polls menu or with the Polls icon above the editor in a new post? -
Hey Vinestreet, at some point, you ought to link your blog so that we can see ya!

@vinestreet: The “Send to Editor” button appears when you create the poll via the button in the post or page editor. Go to Polls>Edit (in your dashboard’s navigation bar), click “HTML code”, copy the shortcode and paste it in your post.

Too often the instructions given in places like this assume a level of knowledge that people don’t have. Here’s the procedure:
1. Develop your poll and save it.
2. Develop a post that the poll will be in
3. Get the short HTML code as described above
4. Paste the short HTML code into the body of the post. Do not attempt to add it as a link as you would for an outside site.
5. Test the post it should contain a poll in the format you elected. -
You bring up a good point, savetheoil. I think that’s why so many are working hard on getting screenshots up with the text. Regardless though, sometimes simple is better than fancy schmancy, IMHO.

Sorry, I don’t understand how to get the html code. Can somebody help please? I have created a poll, and went to “polls edit” as instructed but can’t see what to do next. Thanks!

The site linked to your name isn’t a WordPress.com blog, so our instructions won’t apply to you and we wont’ be able to help, sorry.
