Poor alignment in galleries
-
Galleries are the most essential formatting element of my blog but I can’t get a gallery to align correctly. I simply want a 2×2 gallery of photos below the main photo.
Every one of my photos is cropped to 4×6 before I upload it to wordpress, so variation in photo size shouldn’t be an issue here.
This is how my galleries look if I use a simple gallery block and click the “crop to align” option. In every case the upper right photo is taller than the others, even though the photos are all the same size. For whatever reason that photo is getting blown up slightly larger and then cropped off on both the left and right, while all the other photos are shown correctly.
If I don’t use the “crop to align” option, then the upper right photo displays correctly…but for some reason the lower right photo is now kicked down and misaligned, despite there being no obvious reason for it to be down.
This occurs in every set of photos I try, even though, as I said, all my photos are cropped to the same dimensions. Can anyone explain what is happening and get it fixed or give me a workaround?

I’ll note that now I’m also getting this version, where the lower-right photo in the gallery is the one that is higher than it should be for no reason:

Hi @bangkokherps, I was actually able to duplicate this on a test site, but only with your theme active. I’ll file a bug report for that & update you when we have more info.
