Someone received a message their phone was infected with a virus while on my blog. Any ideas?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi callmeampersand,
That is weird, any chance of getting the exact message and what specific page they are in? We might need a more detailed report so we can try to replicate it on our end and find a good solution.
Thanks!

They could have viruses on their own browsers or devices. I don’t get that message when I click. Tell them to run a security scan.

I just had the same experience; a reader got a pop-up virus message while reading a post on my blog on her iPad. She texted me about the issue and I was able to immediately recreate the problem on my iPhone 6 as well as on an iPad.
The story opens normally. About 3/4 of the way through the post, a new screen moves in from the right side. The url changes to best.ios-offers.com and the message reads:
“This Apple iPad (iPhone 6) is corrupted with virus and battery has been damaged! System has detected (4) virus causing serious damage to your battery and must be removed and fixed immediately.
“Continue with instructions to fix phone. Do not close window.
“**Exit at your own risk**
The blog is here: roadwordyblog.wordpress.com, but the situation was only really happening on this story: https://roadwordyblog.wordpress.com/2017/05/26/golf-the-original-social-network-dan-barnes/
And after hitting the error once or twice on a device, it stops happening.
I haven’t been able to recreate the issue on a computer yet and am only aware of it happening on iOS devices.

I also got a screen capture of the second part of the virus message, which includes a link to install a “SpeedBooster” app from Google Playstore and instructions to run the app and keep it for a minimum of three days.

Hi there, I see that @kokkieh (Staff) answered a similar question about virus alerts here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/spam-pop-up?replies=4 but please leave this thread tagged for Staff attention.

That is malware I’m afraid. I do not get that message and the site loads normally for me on iOS.

I also have the problem on my WP site – kake2kale.com. So far, I have tried different iphone devices (by going to a cell phone store) and 2 different virus messages are consistently popping up. One is the about corrupting the battery and the other is from Premium.ios-offers.com about a jackpot. I have screen shots. It seems to be happening with my last blog post. I believe it’s either coming from the ads that are being placed on my site or the WP site is infected. It’s not the iOS devices. To WordPress staff, are you guys working on this? Clearly, this is affecting many member sites. I sent a message to WP support and have heard nothing back.
