Popups on mobile

This is not the first time this has happened. When viewing my site on a mobile device, I get pop ups. In this case, I was repeatedly told I won an iPhone. Closing and reopening kept bring this back, so I tried a rapid back button press and was rewarded with a series of adult pages.
This has to be fixed. WordPress may not have a help option, relying only on public forums, but if this is in any way a professional site, that has to be corrected.
What do we need to do to get this corrected? If this had happened on my kids phones, while at work, the results could have been far more serious. I want this fixed.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Are you using an iphone or mac oriented system?

    Hi there,

You can’t block this advertiser yourself unfortunately, but WordPress.com does try to remove such adverts, as they’re definitely not intentional. Is it possible to provide any of the following?

-The exact device and browser used
-The exact URL which the advert redirected to
    -A screenshot of the advert
-Your IP address (please do not post that in a public forum, you can upload a screenshot of it to your Media Library where only staff will see it, as I’ve tagged them)

There also should be a “Report this ad” next to some adverts, though not necessarily pop-up. Do you see this and are you able to click it?

    Thank you. :)

  • We take ad quality very seriously, and do our best to identify any bad ads such as these and remove them as quickly as possible.

This is currently an issue across the entire ad industry. You can find more more information about similar problems here: https://www.wired.com/story/pop-up-mobile-ads-surge-as-sites-scramble-to-stop-them/

If you have any additional information about the ads, that may help us identify these specific ads faster so we can remove them. Specifically, as much of the following information as you can provide would be very useful:

    • Your/your site visitor’s device, browser and operating system.
    • Your/your site visitor’s IP address (you can find this by visiting whatismyip.com from the device where you’re seeing the ads – take a screen shot and upload to your media library at My Site ->Media ->Add, please don’t post it here in the public forums)
    • The exact URL of the page/post that showed the ad.
    • What was being advertised.
    • The URL that the ad takes you to.
    • If possible, a screenshot of the ad that hijacked the browser and also upload that to your media library.

These details can also be submitted to us privately via the form at https://en.support.wordpress.com/about-these-ads/
