Portfolio Featured Image on Free Site

I have a free WordPress blog that I’m working on.

I like having the Featured images for my portfolio because of the widget at the bottom that displays my portfolio posts.

However, I don’t like having the Featured images present on the posts themselves as it seems redundant, and looks tacky.

I know the image can be hidden through css, but I’m not looking to upgrade to a premium account at this time.

Is there any other way to hide the Featured images on the portfolio posts that doesn’t require css, or am I just S.O.L?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

I found on a test site with the Dara theme applied that you may hide featured images on projects at Customize > Content Options > Featured Images, by unchecking the box labeled “Display on single posts,” and then saving the change.

Featured images may also be kept from displaying on the default portfolio page (https://catharticcreations.home.blog/portfolio/ on your site) and from other portfolio archive pages by unchecking the box labeled “Display on blog and archives,” at the same location.

I’m not sure why unchecking these boxes works on single projects, in the first case, and on the portfolio page and portfolio project archives pages in the second case, because these settings are designed to work on single posts and on the blog and posts archives pages, respectively…but my tests reveal that they do work. They will hide featured images in the pages I’ve indicated.
