Portfolio menu set as posts page, but not showing any posts
-
Hi- I just installed Sketch, and I updated my pages to have a Portfolio page which I want my posts to show up on, and now I don’t see any of my posts.
To be clear I want my blog posts to show up there, not portfolio posts. Though I also tested portfolio posts and the images wouldn’t show up.
Help!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
I updated my pages to have a Portfolio page which I want my posts to show up on…To be clear I want my blog posts to show up there, not portfolio posts.
Under no circumstances will posts be displayed on the portfolio (aka portfolio page).
Though I also tested portfolio posts and the images wouldn’t show up.
Could you describe the steps of the test or tests you refer to here?

The portfolio can only display portfolio projects. See the Portfolios support page for information about the portfolio and portfolio projects.

To test a true portfolio post, from the dashboard, I selected portfolio>add new> and posted a test post there. Then went to view the porfolio page I created and there was just a grey cube where an image should be.
Do I just need to create a new page called “projects” or something else other than “portfolio” in lieu of “blog” where my posts will show up? That was my original intent
I can still see my posts in dashboard, but just not on the site.

Hi again-I went ahead and just changed the name of the page to projects instead, and now the posts are visible, so I guess that was the issue.

You could create a static page titled “Portfolio” and assign it as the posts page, but the URL http://www.arcflora.com/portfolio/ is reserved for the portfolio, because Sketch is one of the “Portfolio Themes.” It wouldn’t be a problem using a page with the slug “portfolio” on a theme that isn’t among the “Portfolio Themes,” as long as the the portfolio projects feature isn’t enabled.
On a portfolio theme, such as Sketch, if you create a page titled “Portfolio” it will automatically be assigned the slug “portfolio-2.” The slug can be changed, but not to “portfolio.” Regardless of whether you change the slug, a page titled “Portfolio” may be assigned as your posts page on Sketch. I hope that isn’t too confusing.

On the other hand, if you don’t create a static page titled “Portfolio,” then the portfolio page, http://www.arcflora.com/portfolio/, will not appear among the options of static pages that may be assigned as the posts page (in the second drop-down menu at Customize > Static Front Page), because it isn’t a static page. The URL looks like that of a static page, but it isn’t one. Have you noticed that it can’t be found among your static pages? There is no page editor for the portfolio page.

amendment to the last post:
The portfolio page, http://www.arcflora.com/portfolio/, will not appear among the options of static pages that may be assigned as the posts page (regardless of whether you create a static page of the title “Portfolio” or not) because it isn’t a static page.
