Portfolio option not showing up

I have used the Espied theme for my site as I am wanting to use it for a portfolio, although when I go to my dashboard and select settings > writing, there is no Your Custom Content Types option, so I am not able to select Portfolio Projects option.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Portfolio projects are only available in the WP Admin area. Let me know if this helps you get on your way.

I’ve managed to find it before your reply, and now I was hoping you could help me understand how is it different from a regular page with a gallery?
I have been trying to add the portfolio as my initial static page to no success.

If you’d like to display your portfolio on the homepage in the Awesome theme, you’ll need to use the portfolio shortcode.
At its most basic, just adding this to your homepage in the post editor will make your portfolio display:

Some themes display portfolios in special ways. Awesome does not include any portfolio page templates, but others – such as Sketch – do, and you can see how they display your portfolio with the featured image highlighted.
You can also use the portfolio shortcode – as I mentioned above – to display your portfolio projects in various ways.
