I’m new to word press and have created multiple Projects for my portfolio page (which is singed my post page also) which have not come up on my portfolio page although they have worked and when I preview them they work but they do not appear on my portfolio page I must be doing something wrong but can’t figure it out.

    Hi there,

It would be great if you shared your site address.

However, to show portfolio on your page, please make sure you have created the page with the shortcode [portfolio] then you should see your portfolio/projects
    by visiting that page.

I would suggest you, please walk through this documentation to know more about the WordPress Portfolio.

    https://wordpress.com/support/portfolios/portfolio-shortcode/

    I hope this will helps.
Best wishes with your WordPress journey! 🙌

https://jclaytonart.wordpress.com/ Sorry I forgot to include it. I looked over the portfolio guides I’m still unsure what’s wrong with it. It just comes up with page not found still even after turning portfolio projects on and off again. I’m using a theme thats intended for portfolios also so that can’t be the problem.

  • Hi there,

my portfolio page (which is singed my post page also)

    That is why.

If you assign a page as the posts page, that page will only show blog posts published on your site. It won’t show any content you added to the page itself, nor will it show any portfolio projects on your site – projects and blog posts are two completely separate and different types of content.

So first un-set that page as your posts page, then the content you added to the page will appear instead.

If you want the page to display a listing of your portfolio projects in a grid like on the theme demo page that updates automatically each time you publish a new project, you can switch that page to the portfolio page template instead. To do that, edit the page, make sure the sidebar is on the Page tab, and click on Page Attributes in the sidebar:

You do not need to use the portfolio shortcode in this case, as your theme comes with its own template for creating portfolio pages.
