Portfolio Problem and Menu

I use the theme illustratr and have made a portfolio project but I want to know how to put the project types of the portfolio in the menu. I tagged each project and assigned a project type but the option to select project types in the menu is not coming up.

In particular I want to put the portfolio items under the menu: flames archive in their respective categories. The projects are currently private – could this be a reason for the issues?

I’ve read through, however the option to put project types in the menu is still not there

Hi there,
I just checked, and currently private projects won’t appear in the Project section while setting up a custom menu. However, you should still be able to add Project Types and Project Tags to your menu.
Under Appearance > Menus in your dashboard, click on the Project Types section there. You may not see anything appear on the “Most Used” tab there, but you can click on “View All” to see all of the Project Types you have.
If you run into any trouble, you can also add Projects or other links using custom links in your menu. We have more about that here: Custom Menus

Hi there,
Sorry about that! I was mistaken about how the menu works when your projects are private. Since all of the projects are private, those menu options I mentioned (like the Project Types and Project Tags) won’t appear for you. You’ll need at least one public project for those to appear.
Instead, if you want to add the Project Types to your menu, you’ll need to add them as custom links. You can get the URLs for your Project Types and Tags by going to Portfolio > Project Types and Portfolio > Project Tags in your dashboard.
You can hover over each type or tag in the list and click the “View” that appears there. The URL in your browser’s address bar is the one you can use to create the custom link in your menu: Adding custom links

Thanks for the response again, all of my projects are public but no option for the project type is coming up.
I guess I may have to do custom links, its much more awkward though…
