Portfolio project display customization

  Hi,
  I am an artist. i had really liked the template and i struggling to customize it to my needs. Its very critical for the art image display to look consistent and appealing.

  i need help in customizing the portfolio page of the Swell theme. Its heart and soul of the art website.

  1. Thumbnail display – how do make sure that all the thumbnails are of uniform size in thumbnail display option for project ? What sizes are recommended for resizing both horizontal and vertical images.

  2. Slideshow display – Is it possible to have a white background instead of black in slideshow display?

  Hi Aiyana,

  1. Thumbnail display – how do make sure that all the thumbnails are of uniform size in thumbnail display option for project ? What sizes are recommended for resizing both horizontal and vertical images.

  If you use the Portfolio page template (from the Pages Attribute module in the page editor), your portfolio projects should be shown in a grid similar to what you see on this page on the Swell Theme demo page. I would recommend using images that are consistent in width to height ratio (landscape would be best) if at all possible, and upload images that are 2000px in width. The main grid portfolio display sizes images to 413px wide x 232px (when the window is wider than the width of the theme), and will then rescale them on narrower windows/screens.

  2. Slideshow display – Is it possible to have a white background instead of black in slideshow display?

  Add this to change the slideshow background to white.

  .slideshow-window {
      background-color: #fff !important;
      border-color: #fff !important;
  }

  Thanks for your inputs. I will act upon it.

  My query is about the display of images within each of the portfolio project page. I have uploaded the images of my art in each of the project pages. The paintings are both horizontal and vertical. I prefer the thumbnail display option for my image gallery.

  1. How do you make sure all the thumbnails display within each project page looks consistent in size?

  What are dimensions for resizing horizontal and vertical images?

  Please guide.

  Please guide where do I add the following details to change the color.

  Add this to change the slideshow background to white.
