Portfolio project gallery – adding additional images

    Is there a way to add images to an exisiting portfolio project gallery? I’ve set up a gallery but would like to swap out some of the images in the layout. I don’t see a way to do that. The only option I see it to add more images to the project in an additional gallery. But I want to place new images in the gallery that I already have for the project.

    Thanks. I tried that but all it shows is how to shuffle existing photos around.

    I figured it out myself. It wasn’t easy to find. Posting it here in case anyone else needs to know.

    1. Click on the gallery to see the ‘editing pencil’
    2. Click on the pencil
    3. Click on the ‘edit’ tab inside the gallery
    4. Above the gallery, at the top of the editing window, click on the words
    “<— Media Library”
    5. Add the photos that you want to add to your gallery.

    The photos will be added at the bottom and then you have to drag and move then where you want them.

    I hope in the future WordPress makes this a lot easier. The “Preview’ tab also does not show an actual preview as the final project arrangement always looks different. There has to be a a better way. But for now, it is what it is.

    Glad you figured it out. You’re correct that the link I provided wasn’t all that helpful, other than the mention of the Edit icon and an image showing what it looks like. I agree that it would good idea to add a section to the support page specifically on adding images to a gallery, and that simple step-by-step instructions such as those you’ve provided are presently lacking.

    Some of the steps you’ve listed are included in the Adding a Gallery or Slideshow section, but I still think a separate section with a simple set of steps for adding images to an existing gallery or slideshow would be a good idea.
