Portfolio projects displayed using a grid page template

  My interest is to display a portfolio of my sewing, etc. projects, but I would also like to have a blog page.

  For this reason, I think it makes sense that I use the portfolio content type or create pages, leaving all posts to be blog content.

  I currently have my site set up using the Blask theme and have not yet made any upgrades.

  I like the way the Motif theme grid template displays the content, and I would like to implement the grid on my front page.

  I have noticed that the modules within the project editor are more like the modules within the post editor and not the page editor.

  I understand I could make new pages for each project and therein make each page a child of the grid page.
  Before I spend time creating new pages, is there a way I can set up my portfolio projects as pages for the grid template?

  Unlike pages, portfolio projects may have project types and project tags assigned to theme, which are analogous to post categories and post tags, respectively.

  A grid page template in a theme that includes that template can only display child pages. That being understood, you could use a grid page to display projects, but only if each project is a child page of the grid page, not a portfolio project.

  An alternative to using a grid template, with page content displayed under each featured image in the grid, on your front page would be to use Portfolio Shortcode, customized to display content if you prefer, on a static page that is assigned to display on your front page.

  Themes with the Grid Page Template option, where the featured images and the titles displayed in the grid link to child pages, include the following:
