Portfolio showing up in two places

  I made my portfolio my homepage with the Sketch theme. However, now my portfolio is showing up twice. Once on my homepage, and a second time in my menu under the page ‘Portfolio’. I want my portfolio to show up ONLY as my homepage. Are there any suggestions how to fix this?

  If you haven’t already done so, create a custom menu. Include only those pages, posts, links which you want in your menu. Exclude those you don’t want, including the portfolio page.

  With a custom menu, you may also include the sub-categories of your portfolio (the projects “Headshots,” “Family,” “Seniors,” and any others you add to those) in the menu, by nesting them in the menu structure below either “Home” or Portfolio.”

  musicdoc1- I have already created a custom menu and my ‘Portfolio’ page isn’t even on it, so I don’t understand why it is still showing up on my website’s menu. The only pages that are listed under my menu within my controls are ‘Home’, ‘About’, ‘Investment’, and ‘Contact’ so I don’t even know why ‘Portfolio’ is still showing up. Is it because I have the ‘Portfolio’ page set as the ‘static’ page for my home page under settings? I don’t know if that was a clear question but that is what I am struggling with right now…

  The link to the page “Portfolio” should not appear in your custom menu, regardless of whether it is your static homepage, unless you include it as a menu item. Important: Make sure you check the “Primary Navigation” option under Menu Settings at the bottom of your custom menu “structure.” If you don’t have this checked, then the hierarchical page menu created at Page Attributes displays, instead of the custom menu.
