Portfolio SubProjects

Hi, so I’m making an online portfolio and I’ve got the Portfolio page as my home page. My question is that I have the project type “portrait” and I noticed that you can make sub project times underneath the parent one. I want to know if I can make the “Portrait” portfolio display on my homepage but when clicked on will lead to multiple portfolios with the model’s name (in this case “Maddie”) with “Portrait” as their parent portfolio

The blog i need help with is : https://rebeccaamiraphotography.wordpress.com and I am using the Ilustrar theme

here’s an example of what I’m talking about where the Project type leads to more portfolios http://tyrrellnashphotography.com

    Hi,

Project type and tag archives pages are created automatically when you assign types or tags to projects. In the example you refer to, http://tyrrellnashphotography.com/ doesn’t display the portfolio on the front page, but instead evidently displays a specially constructed static page which appears to incorporate either a table, or customized shortcode (see explanation below).

The row of images and the titles below them on the front page of Tyrell Nash Photography each link to project type archives pages. The portfolio of the site, http://tyrrellnashphotography.com/portfolio/, displays all projects, just as your portfolio will.

Project type archives pages could be linked to more easily in a custom menu.

I want to know if I can make the “Portrait” portfolio display on my homepage but when clicked on will lead to multiple portfolios with the model’s name (in this case “Maddie”) with “Portrait” as their parent portfolio

It’s possible to limit the projects displayed to those of a certain type with portfolio shortcode, and include such a shortcode in a static front page, but that would still leave you with two links to the project, and one to the type archives page, rather than the two links to the type archives page in the example. You might be able to customize the link destinations with CSS, but I can’t help you with that. The other alternative, as mentioned above, would involved creating a table.
