  what ports need to be open so i can use word press effectively ?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  If you mean WordPress.com then 80 for HTTP and 443 for https. Unless you are using webmail then 25 for SMTP and 109/110 for POP s you can receive the confirmation emails.

  In other words just about what you need for any other web-based service
