  How do I get my most recent post to appear first instead of following previous posts ?

  All the posts that you have above the latest are set as sticky posts which means they will remain at the top of the blog forever unless you unstick them.

  This support document covers the sticky post feature: http://support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/ .

  Unstick all those post and everything will go into reverse chronological order.
