Possibility of retrieving post that was saved over?

I was under the impression that I published a post and I clicked new post. Unfortunately I found out that for some reason the new post had merely replaced the old post when I found the link had the old title.
By that time, the 25 revisions that were visible were all of the current post. Being somewhat confident in the auto-save feature (and unaware that it could screw me over) I did not save the draft in a word document or anything else. I also am using Chrome so the Firefox option of going into offline mode and retrieving the draft page is not there.
Is there any possibility of me retrieving the 800 word draft that was saved over by some mysterious process?

If you created it on your own blog’s dashboard you may be able to recover it.
Go to Posts > All Posts, hover over the title of the post, click Edit and check the Post Revisions module for previous saved versions of the post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-revisions/
If you’re not seeing the Revisions module while on the editor screen, click Screen Options (top right corner of your Admin page) http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ to activate it. Then select the post and page modules to include them. http://en.support.wordpress.com/modules/#list-of-modules Then you ought to be able to go here > Dashboard > All Posts > Posts and locate the post and recover it from post revisions.
If you cannot locate the post for locating and restoring a post revision, and it’s not in your Trash folder http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/ then you will not be able to recover it. http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/#restoring-from-trash
Did you create your post on the dashboard of your own blog?

Yeah, it’s not in the trash.
I created it from the front page as I typically do. I suppose I know better now. Thanks for the help.
