Possible bug- IE7 or template
-
Hello, I’m totally new to blogging & have a few questions.
I’m using the Andreas09 template. When I click either the Entries (RSS)& Comments(RSS)an error page comes up-
‘page cannot be displayed.’ In the address bar: feed:http://jazzfusion.wordpress.com/feed/
I took away the word ‘feed’ before http:// & it worked.
Is this the template , IE7 browser bug or am I missing something?
Thanks, Carl -
P.S. I just tried RSS feed for this topic link & the same thing happened. I guess it’s IE7 then?

any link that starts with
feed://will open with whatever program is associated with that protocol.
my guess is that IE7 is not associated with that protocol. i will research it and get back to you. -
Um, you do understand that RSS is something to be read by an RSS reader, right? Some browsers have RSS feed readers built in and others do not.
-
ah.
yes, that’s a bug with the andreas 09 theme (it should be
feed://http://, notfeed:http://. please submit feedback with a link to this thread tomorrow morning.as a workaround, you can add the meta widget to the sidebar, which has correct links.
@vivian – IE7 has a built in feedreader.

Thanks for the replies. Where/ who do I send the link /feedback to?
There’s also have another problem with a different template – Andreas04.
If I’m not signed in & go my home page with these settings ‘OPTIONS/ READING/ FRONT PAGE SETTINGS / YOUR LATEST POSTS
I get error message ‘ Windows Explorer was not able to open this internet site. I’m also getting the download box..
Again I don’t know if it’s the template, IE7, or something else.By the way I didn’t get any reply notification messages sent to me. Is there a way to set that up?
Thanks again,
Carl -
Feedback link is at the upper right of any Dashboard page when you log into your blog’s backend.
Reply notification messages for what?

I have the same problem with Andreas 9, either with IE7, Firefox or Opera. This last one is the only browser which come up with more than just ‘page cannot be displayed’ so I could see the problem might be the fact I have some posts password-protected.
Does anyone know how to bypass this problem?
Thanks in advance. -
Update: I checked my comments feed at FeedValidator, and it comes up like this:
Sorry
This feed does not validate.
line 19, column 69: Undefined named entity: ntilde (9 occurrences)
<description>Comentarios protegidos: Por favor, escriba su contraseñ …So, it seems it’s just for how the tilde is inserted… Feed Validator suggests it should be changed to its numeric equivalent instead of using ñ
That’s OK with me, but how to do it? Can I edit my comments feed? Or should I request this to someone else? and who? Andreas Viklund or WordPress support?Any ideas?
Thanks in advance! :) -

Oh, well, let me try again, with blank spaces between letters so it doesn’t get ‘decoded’ to ñ again… ” & n t i l d e ; ” (no matter what the result of my attempt, I won’t try to correct it again, hehe)
