Possible conflict between Adcontrol and Cloudflare
-
Recently I received an email informing me I was using bots to inflate my page visits and subsequent WordAds earnings after much investigation I can only think of one thing that could have caused this false positive since I would never do this. From Google Analytics and WordPress.com there were no unusual changes in traffic to suggest bots were hitting my site
I recently turned off Cloudflare (about a month ago) but forgot to deactivate or switch off the Cloudflare plugin. I suspect this could have resulted in a false positive.
Steps to replicate:
1) Turn off Cloudflare caching
2) Do not deactivate Cloudflare pluginThis will likely result in a false positive.

Hi –
Please reply to that email directly. We won’t be able to assist any further with this in the public forums. Thanks :)

I have sent several replies but the strangest thing happened. I was recently asked to rate the help I had gotten from the issue. Normally this happens when a ticket is closed right. It would be nice to be able to have a ticket number to keep track of an issue. Hitting reply yields no response not even acknowledgement of receipts. The WordPress.com help system is a little foreign to me.
Anyway I have replied to the email with the new information.

Come back to me here if you don’t get a reply in the next few days. I’ll be off this weekend but will check back in on Monday.

Hi staff-zinnia although I did not get the outcome I was looking for I am grateful for your help in this matter. I would not have gotten as far as I did in the appeal process without your help. Again thanks for the great help. Keep up the good work.
