Possible Glitch in Posts/Drafts

    I’m writing this post to report a possible glitch in Posts/Drafts page.

    Backstory – My sister was writing a blog post last night and I saw the draft was saved ‘6 minutes ago’. I told her it was safe to continue writing this tomorrow.

    Today she told me that the draft was missing. I checked and it was indeed missing in the Calypso interface.

    So I visited the /wp-admin/ page of her blog and the draft was there.

    I came back to the Calypso interface, created a new test draft and then it finally started to show two drafts (as it should).

    Hi,

    Thanks for the screenshots. Can I just double check where you sister was writing her draft post — in the Calypso interface, or the WP Admin interface?

    Has this occurred when saving drafts of any other posts or pages? Or was this the first time it happened?

    Yes she was writing it in the Calypso interface. And this was the first time it happened.

    Thanks for confirming!

    Based on what you told me, I did some testing but I wasn’t able replicate the issue. The fact that it has only happened once points towards a glitch rather than a bug.

    I think it’s likely to be a delay in Calypso refreshing itself and by you creating a new draft, it forced Calypso to refresh — which is why the draft then appeared. However, I’ll leave this thread open so you have somewhere to report the problem if it happens again. You can just reply here as you have done this time.

    Hmm.. I haven’t been able to replicate the issue either. So yes it’s probably a one time thing!

    But I reported it just to let the staff know about it.. in case it happens again to other accounts.
