Is it possible to remove someone who is on my subscriber list?

This is what I found in the support documentation:
You can delete any blog or comment subscription by clicking on the delete link that appears when you hover over a subscription, or by checking the small box to the left of a subscription and using the bulk actions dropdown to delete multiple subscriptions at once. Go to the Dashboard > Subscriptions page or click on the Manage your subscriptions link in your email to see your subscriptions. See > http://en.support.wordpress.com/subscriptions/#unsubscribe

You can’t remove someone from your subscriber list, no. @timethief’s instructions are for your own subscriptions I’m afraid.

Frankly I’m not clear as to whether or not that actually answers your question. It’s not clear to me whether that entry applies to deleting the subscriptions we have created, (that’s what it sounds like to me) or to deleting individual subscribers to our own blogs.
There is a blocking function found here > Settings > Discussion scroll down and look for this:
Comment Blacklist
When a comment contains any of these words in its content, name, URL, e-mail, or IP, it will be marked as spam. One word or IP per line. It will match inside words, so “press” will match “WordPress”.
Don’t forget to click “Save Changes” when you are done. -
