Possible to change fonts? If so, how and where?
-
I’m not really very knowledgeable about css (one of several reasons I’ve moved in at WordPress!) but I do occasionally have a peek at the stylesheet behind themes. I have been wondering whether altering fonts here at dot Com is feasible? There are several lovely themes that I would like to experiment with just a bit, if that were possible. Or, does this require a paid upgrade that I see things about? Don’t quite understand that…

Yes changing font families, sizes and colors by purchasing the paid CSS upgrade is possible. TypeKit fonts can be used to change font families only and not color or size. Se here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-css/

…you can alter fonts by using simple HTML codes.
<p style="text-align:left;"><span style="font-size:medium;font-family:times new roman;color:#000000;">something here</span></p>If the backticks worked there should be some HTML there… just copy and paste it into your HTML editor.

Another way is to use Type Kit, which if you choose the free service doesn’t cost a thing.
More info about using TypeKit with WordPress.com here.

@johnnytesting: “p” is for a complete paragraph; “span” is for words or phrases inside a paragraph. Your example should be either p or span, not both. Also note that left alignment is the default for text, so you needn’t specify it unless the previous section has a different alignment.

I personally have learned a new smidgen about xhtml just by fiddling with the ‘html’ side of the preview panel on my posts…
Ooh, I like the ‘junction’ font! Very weak-eye friendly…got to try it!
