Possible to change size and/or color of the Ampersand header or replace it?

Is it possible to change the size and color of the Ampersand header or replace it with a custom image? (Either with or without the custom upgrade)

Hi Jana,
Yes, you can indeed. You just need to log in to your Dashboard and then go to Appearance >> Header and upload an image there. You have to make sure that it is at least 1200 × 335px or it won’t work correctly but you cant definitely replace it!

Are you sure this is true for Ampersand—that it doesn’t just put a shadow of the image behind the big gray box? I think that’s all that does…but maybe when I tried it my image was the wrong size. I’ll try it again.

OK, tested it, and all it does is put the image behind the grey box (see my header–the image is there but it’s barely discernible).

PS I’ve read everything on the support page and followed all the directions and watched the video. You’re right, it is a great support page and very much appreciated. The theme is fantastic!

You are 100% right. I had forgotten that with Ampersand, while they do allow a header to be uploaded, it doesn’t replace the field of colour it just places the image as a sort of background to it. I apologize for giving you only half of a piece of information.
I do not believe that there is any way to remove that field and just have your image display. You may be able to do so with CSS, however that would require some experimentation and I don’t want to promise anything!
