possible to delete un-used site name at …wordpress.com

  Hello, i am starting a small company and would like to create a ….wordpress.com blog/site with my company name as part of the url..

  When i go to wordpress.com to create the blog/site, the signup process indicates that the name/url i want to use at …..wordpress.com has already been used by someone else.

  I checked the site that was setup by someone else and the site at ….wordpress.com was setup in April 2010.. with a ‘Hello World’ post .. and there is nothing else on the site for content.

  So, to me, it looks like an un-used site…

  I am asking if it is possible to have this old, un-used site removed so i can make use of the url/name for my own company. Appreciate any help :-)

  Sorry, but that’s not possible. Under no circumstances will staff transfer a URL to you without the current owner’s consent and they also won’t provide you with contact details of the current owner: http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

  Your only chance is to leave a comment, if comments are enabled on that site, asking the owner if they would transfer the site to you. It’s a long shot as they might not be monitoring comments anymore and even if they are they might not want to transfer the site to you.

  The other option (if you cannot find another suitable WP.com address) is to create any free address here and then see if your company’s name is available as a custom domain which you can map to the free WP.com address: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/
