Possible to download other bloggers’ entire archives?

    @TSP, I certainly take your view to heart, and will make a change accordingly. So when I find an idea from another blog/blogs in my niche, I should just read them, go away and write in my own words what I read? approaching the idea from a different angle, giving it a different spin. Which I think I do, but certainly don’t want to be perceived as a content thief. I read in my journeys through the blogosphere that there are no new ideas, just new ways of presenting old ideas and truths. TSP how do you go about finding ideas then writing on them, what is your method of researching an idea/topic. I respect your opinion and views as I know you’re a very experienced blogger. So I hope you don’t mind my asking you.

    I read your posts. Your research is through and there is no problem with your blog posts. You are sharing your own perspectives in your own words and backlinking to posts in a authoritative blogs in the niche as references. You are not plagiarizing or stealing content.

    @Timethief

    Thank you TT, I value your knowledge and expertise, and I am happy you think my posts are well researched. I always try to backlink to my source. I try to thoroughly research an idea/topic to get the best overview of it. Perhaps my earlier post in this thread was not worded correctly and therefore misleading. Have a great day!

    You’re welcome. If I see you do anything “odd” in your posts. I’ll email you. Have a good weekend. :)

    @ Well I wouldn’t call it stealing. Just saving the posts for my own personal use for the future. Also “lol” at your nickname. :-P

    But aside the “moral issues”, is there anyway for me to save posts? It’s a simple question. I’m all in for not stealing content and what I’m doing I don’t consider theft, so, please someone, is there or is there not a way to do this besides copying the posts manually?

    @qrac
    I faced death head-on twice and stole my life back from the grim reaper. I am currently living on borrowed time and I’m keenly aware of that. And, took this nick name long before the negative connotation attached to it.

    is there or is there not a way to do this besides copying the posts manually?

    There is no way I know of and I have said that before in this thread here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/possible-to-download-other-bloggers-entire-archives?replies=25#post-464032

    If you truly think it’s not theft then why don’t you contact the blogger and ask him or her for a copy of his or her archives, and then let us know what the response is?

    @timetheft
    I was just thinking about how your nickname had “thief” in it and here you are saying we are stealing, that’s what I found funny. Nothing serious.

    Okey, thank you. I’ll contact him and see what he says.

    That’s good news.

    He told me that I could have his posts but that he didn’t know a way to download all of his posts and send them to me. Is there a plugin so that the admin for the blog can download all posts?

  • Unknown's avatar

    As I said above, there is no FTP access to free hosted wordpress.COM blogs. We cannot upload individual plugins into them.
