Possible to have different pages for pictures?
-
I wanted to know if it’s possible to have different pages for my pictures with arrows taking you to the next page of each photo. Additionally, I’d like people to be able to comment on each photo. Pretty much like this blog (without of course having to switch themes)…

The link to my photo page is…

II saw something about plugins for wordpress but I’m not sure which one I’d need or if I can edit this into my CSS style sheet.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Can’t have entirely what you want, but what you might want to do is look at the gallery function here. What it will do is put a series of thumbnails on the page and then if you set the images to open in attachment pages, people can then leave comments on the attachment pages.

As far as plugins, plugins are not allowed here for security reasons. Plugins are only for self-hosted wordpress blogs. It isn’t something that can be done with CSS either. CSS cannot add functionality, it is only a document that the browsers use to style the page.
Check out the gallery though. If you have multiple pages of images, you can put groups of them on individual pages and then create a link to the next page at the bottom of the galleries.

Okay, I think I have it. Thank you so much. :)
I’m going to be a nitpick again and ask if you know how to hide or remove the ugly “no comments yet” above all the comment boxes? It bugs me. A LOT.
And just one more thing. Can I make the font smaller on the above titles of my pictures? The part where it says Pics >> My family etc. I hate big font.

This gets rid of the “no comments yet”
.page .comment-number {display:none; }This will allow you to adjust the font size above the image on the attachment page
.attachment .post-header h1, .attachment .post-header h2 {font-size: 2.6em; } -
You’re a lifesaver. Thanks again.
One last question, since you mentioned it before and I’m considering it. What is the best web hosting site for wordpress that’s cheap, has little downtime and lots of space? I’m considering godaddy.com because it’s only $7 a month but then I heard you had to pay for a domain etc.
I’m not trying to go off topic. I just need a good point in the right direction from people who have self-hosted websites. Thanks.

You’re welcome.
I’ve got a lot of clients and they are spread all over the place, blue host, godaddy, dreamhost, siteground, and I’ve had good times with those hosts, and I’ve had bad times.
Personally I use A Small Orange. They are reasonably priced and in my experience at least have little downtime and their technical support I find to be a breath of fresh air. They are responsive, knowledgeable and easy to get along with, and most importantly they are tenacious when it comes to keeping all their software and systems upgraded and secure. Right now I’m on their “small” shared hosting plan ($5 per month), but because of my web work (I have multiple installations of WordPress, Joomla and even a Drupal), I’m probably going to have to move up to the medium package soon.
With self-hosting, you will have to have a domain name if you do not already, but most hosts make buying a domain name and setting things up relatively painless and typically less expensive than buying through a normal registrar. Most good hosts also have install scripts that will install wordpress for you and all you have to do is answer a few questions.

Alrght, I’ll check into it. I appreciate the information. :) I did notice you can upload wordpress through Fantastico which is great for me. And $5 a month is cheap. So sounds perfect!
I’m going to let this thread rest now.
