Possible to set defaults in Editor?
-
Imagine, for example, I wanted all of my future blog posts to appear in italics. Is it possible to set defaults in the WYSIWYG so that it happens by default, rather then having to select all and hit the appropriate button, or without having to remember to set the formatting before I type?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Nope. That’s what the CSS upgrade is for. You MIGHT be able to do it using an offline blog editor like Blogdesk etc, but there’s no guarantee WP.com won’t strip out your modifications when you post it.

Have you seen this?
Things like typefaces, headings, image padding and borders, etc. can easily be set by the current theme making the visual editor… more WYSIWYG. All it takes is a stylesheet and a small function in the theme’s functions.php file. http://2010dev.wordpress.com/

That’s awesome! Now, this only works if I purchase the CSS upgrade right? I can’t actually change the style sheet until then?

This is “in the works” so to speak. The new default theme 2010 has yet to be introduced here and it has some cutomizable options that have been long awaited. I believe we are currently running version 2.9.2 on this wpMU platform here at wordpress.com but the early adopters over at wordpress.ORG …Development is just about complete, and if you’re using the bleeding edge development version of WordPress 3.0, Twenty Ten is now the default theme on new blogs. It would be amazing if it becomes possible here. 2010 mentioned somewhere in the posting that the new theme doesn’t need too many tweeks, would be cool if it were launched over here. We can set default categories, default links etc, it would be great if we could set default formatting as well. (Not that I plan to post everything in italics, mind you!)
