Possibly scaling back from WordPress business
-
I don’t need all the options wordpress business offers and I’d like to scale back. What will it affect and what are my options?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, that depends on what plan you are scaling back to. I made a list when I was considering downgrading not so long ago, so maybe that will help you too:
To Premium:
Retain Custom Domain or Mapping
Retain Custom Design editing
Retain access to all Premium themes
Retain Simple Payments
Retain automatic inclusion in WordAds or No Ads
Retain VideoPress and audio uploads/embeds
Retain Advanced Social Media
Retain Staff Support
Limited to 5 email forwarding addresses (Business has 100)
No Google Analytics
No SEO enhancements
Storage limited to 13GB (Business storage is unlimited)
No uploading of plugins or custom themes
WordPress.com branding (footer) reinstatedTo Personal:
Retain Custom Domain or Mapping
Retain No Ads
Retain Audio uploads (only)
Retain Staff Support
No Custom Design editing
Limited to Free themes or pay additional for Premium themes
No Simple Payments (although can add PayPal buttons)
Limited to 5 email forwarding addresses (Business has 100)
No Google Analytics
No SEO enhancements
No Advanced Social Media
Not automatically included in WordAds program
No VideoPress
Storage limited to 6GB (Business storage is unlimited)
WordPress.com branding (footer) reinstatedHope I haven’t overlooked something, but if you have a specific question, let me know.

If you do decide to downgrade, please contact the Happiness Engineers using Live Chat or email at https://wordpress.com/help/contact and they’ll help you with this.
-
Thank you!
So, I’m thinking I will bump down to personal. I’ll have to change my theme (ugh), unfortunately.
What is the annual price for personal and premium? Business is $299

Embarrassed grin/
smithsheatingandcoolingms.com is using HostGator nameservers and is not hosted here at WordPressdotcom. Was there a different site you were referring to?
-
Yes, gumbobungalowpensacola.com – same email, but different sites. sorry…should’ve mentioned that.
-
No worries. You can see the costs/year on the pricing page but again, contact Support when you are ready to downgrade.
-
I see you also opened another thread about this here, https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/i-think-i-want-to-scale-back-business-profile-to-personal-please-advise/ which I have now closed and tagged this thread for Staff assistance.
I’m assuming that you are not logged in with the correct username account to do this, since your support requests are being routed to the forums rather than to Support. Thanks for your patience while they get back to you.

Hi there,
I don’t see any Business Plan upgrade in the account you’re using to post here.
gumbobungalowpensacola.com belongs to a completely different account, username ssmithgumbo
Please log in as that username and then start a live chat with us at https://wordpress.com/help/contact, and we can help you with a downgrade. But we cannot do a downgrade at the request of an account that doesn’t own the upgrade.
-
Somehow I have used my email address for the 3 wordpress websites I have created for my friends. The lady that owns the beach house (gumbobungalowpensacola.com) wants to scale back to free version.
I cannot figure out the password for the user name SSmithGumbo and she is not receiving any kind of “reset your password” email.
Please just scale it back for me before she is forced to renew at $300
-
Actually, I found the password in my notes from a year ago. I’m in the account ssmithgumbo now

Great :)
Go to https://wordpress.com/help/contact/ and you’ll be able to start a live chat session for further support. This is going to be the fastest way to resolve any issues or questions.
