Post appearance on home page

  On my home page my posts appear as the complete post whereas I would like to just have the first paragraph visible until you click on it. Could you please advise on how I do that? I am using Twenty Twelve theme.

  Use the Excerpt module under the post editor to create an excerpt for the post. If you do not see the Excerpt module, click the Screen Options tab near the top-right when writing or editing a post and make sure that “Excerpt” is checked.

  Publish your post. Note that the excerpt feature only works with certain themes. If your theme does not support excerpts, you can use the More tag instead.

  Follow raincoaster’s advice, without the “or”. Excerpts work on some themes only, and 2012 isn’t one of them.
  (@aearthr: since you seem to know that “the excerpt feature only works with certain themes” but apparently you don’t know which themes these themes are, next time test things before writing “use the Excerpt module” etc.)
