Post Appears as Comment – Why?

  I have found that if I make a new post to my blog, and if that post includes a link to a previous post in my blog, the new post gets listed as a comment as well. Why is this? I don’t want it to be that way. If a reader comments, or if I should comment on my own posts (why would I do that??) okay, but not automatically because of a link.

  Am I missing something?

  It’s called a “trackback” : a link (from another blog or your own blog) to your post will appear as a comment in this post. You can disable this by unchecking the “Allow link notifications from other blogs (pingbacks and trackbacks.)” checkbox in Options > Discussions.
