Post Archive page is not showing articles in excerpt form on the mobile viewereven though it is selected

When viewing my site in the mobile viewer the post archive page is not showing it in excerpt form. Rather it is each entire post which adds to long scroll time and not a good appearance. The vast majority of people who frequent my site do so on their mobile phone and if they want to view my archived posts they will have to scroll through each individual full posts instead of the excerpt. I do have the excerpt option for main page and archive page selected in the customizer settings. And it works on the full site. But it dies not work on the mobile viewer where it matters most and would be most convenient for both my page and wordpress.

The issue is that you have the default mobile theme enabled on your site. That theme doesn’t follow the settings of your actual site theme, including how your theme treats excerpts.
The mobile theme comes from the time when most WordPress themes weren’t mobile-friendly yet. But the theme you currently have on your site is fully mobile-responsive, so there’s no need to use the mobile theme. If you disable that, your site will use your actual theme’s mobile version instead, where excerpts work exactly the same as in the desktop version.
