  Can I add a background color or image to the text of a post or page within an existing theme?

  Two ways:

  1. You can use style attributes in an opening div tag to give a background color or image to the content of a post or page. You have to do it on a post-by-post or page-by-page basis. No upgrade required.

  2. With the Custom Design upgrade, you can do it via CSS for all posts and then not have to worry about doing it for each single post or page.

  Hello all, thanks for your help. I’ve upgraded with the Custom Design option and now have access to CSS. I’ve been trying to create a CSS code that affects the background color of posts but it does not work. I’m sure there is something I am missing, any tips?
