Post became a page??

    Hello!

So I was writing a blog post, and was able to add in tags and categories etc, and managed to publish it.

I then went to my blog to view it, but somehow just couldn’t find the post! After a while, I finally realised that instead of having published a post, it was somehow a page.

That’s extremely odd, as I was 100% sure I was writing a post and not a page. If I was writing a page, I wouldn’t have been able to add in tags and categories, right?

I’m just really confused how that happened and why it did that.

    Thanks!! :)

    Hello,
You’re right, there are no tags and categories associated with a page. Can you post a link to this problematic post/page?

  • Hi there!

Hmm, as @micawbr said, indeed categories and tags are for posts. Now, can you try checking your drafts if the post that you were editing somehow ended up there?

Sometimes it’s easy to get confused and go from editing a post to ending up in the page editor. :)

    Hi micawbr and ehtis!

Thank you both very much for your replies :)

It wasn’t really a problematic post/page or anything, so to speak. I was just surprised it “turned into” a page after I wrote it as a post.

@ehtis I tried checking my drafts and there weren’t any new posts there. May I ask what you mean in the last part of your reply? Where you said it’s easy to go from editing a post to ending up in the page editor?

    Thanks again!! :)

I’m curious if it’s possible to check a box or something to choose to publish a post as a page. For example, I’m able to keep a post at the top of the page by making it a sticky post. Is there such a box for turning a post into a page?
