Post becomes blank when published AGAIN!
-
This has happened to me the multiple times. The last that it happened, I have a draft save so I can still get hold of that draft and rewrite from there. But this is time, I don’t. At the very point where I concluded that everything is in order in edit mode and I hit the published button, my entire blog entry that I have spent hours writing is GONE!
I clicked back, still empty, go to past revision, all empty. Can you help me understand what is wrong with wordpress?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there,
Please try to restore the post. There is an autosave feature on wordpress which saves every 2 minutes. The feature can’t be turned off. There is only one autosave for each post/page. Each new autosave overwrites the previous autosave in the database.

You can find the last autosave, if there is one, and other post revisions in the Post Revisions Module. http://support.wordpress.com/posts/post-revisions/ -
You could have a browser issue so try changing your browser settings, refreshing the page, or clearing the browser cache and cookies – instructions for specific browsers.
Which browser and version of it are you using?
-
Firefox 4.0.1 in Mac. There is no autosave revision in my post revision panel. I don’t know what is wrong. I don’t think it is browser specific problem as well. I switch to safari and chrome and the result is the same.
As I have mentioned, I didn’t click on the save draft. At the very moment that I have clicked on the publish, every thing is gone. Very frustrating especially after spending hours writing it.
And this is not the first thing that this happens to me. It is like the fourth and fifth. The rate it is going, I really think that may be I should switch to another blog site.

I’s so sad to hear you did not click “save draft” even once when doing hours of work. If you had then the autosave would have activated and you could restore a draft. I’m a chronic “save draft” clicker myself. Sorry I can’t help you. :(

It shouldn’t. Once Support is open again, report it.
In the meantime, when you go to post something, first highlight EVERYTHING in the Write Post box. Then, while it’s still highlighted, copy it to your clipboard. THen while it’s still highlighted, hit Publish. That usually got around this when I was using IE. If you still lose the post, you can just paste.

I am sorry. Not too sure what you meant by support opens again. Isn’t posting in forum equal to contact support or no?
-
No.
You need to use the contact form on your dashboard via the Help button there or
http://en_us.support.wordpress.com/
But I believe it’s closed at the moment.

I just had the same thing happen to me when using Firefox on a PC. I added Post Revisions Module but I guess it was too little, too late. WP works fast and exceptionally well most of the time, especially compared to Drupal, but this kinda got me mad. At least it was just 400 words and not something that took hours to do. I’ll get over it in a half hour. :)

me too, faced this issue these few days! when i clicked on publish or schedule, and poof, my blogpost was empty!!
and i don’t see the revisions for me to restore below my blogpost (edit page), why? -
