Post by Email from Other Web Sites Contact Form

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,

I activated the “post by email” feature in my blog ( getting the secret email address ) and I am
using this address on a contact form ( on another site that I own ) to give the visitors the
opportunity of adding posts to my blog. However, although when I send directly through any email client
( say gmail ) an email to the secret address the post is created fine, from the contact form the
email is sent on the one hand ( it has been tested ) but one the other wordpress.com ignores it.

Searching a little bit I found that I have to create another admin user in my blog that it’s email address
matches that of the “from” email address of the contact form and so I did, however that did not worked either.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thank you

Could you please let me know where I can find your other blog, with the contact form on it? Also review this guide to learn how to change the e-mail address inside a contact form.

The other site is not a blog

It will be a simple contact form that will be opened inside my blog as a contact form
    and the url is

    http://leooxi.x10.mx/contact.php

When you press “Αποστολή” the code sends an email to my secret address in specific
category and with a dealy of +2 so I can moderate

    Thank you

Hm, I don’t see why adding that email address as an admin on your blog wouldn’t work. Can you confirm that the sender of these email-generated blog posts always shows up as one of the two other email addresses you’ve added as users to your blog?

    Hello,

I am sending you the message ( original + code ) that I send to my gmail account instead of the secret email… As I can see from the following text it does not send it directly from this email address and that seems to me natural as this is a free hosting and as such the actual mail server is different than that of my domain…..

If that is what blocking the email is there anything I can do?

    Thank you

  • We have several filters in place to block automated posting, and I believe your contact form is being caught by one of those.

Can you post successfully via a regular email from your Gmail account?

  • Unknown's avatar

Yes I can post from a regular Gmail account successfully

  • In that case, I’d have to say it’s the form at this point.

Would you please contact us via support@wordpress.com through the form and refer to this thread so we can take a closer look?
