“Post by email” issue

    Hi there. I’m using wordpress.com to post some of my classes online for my students. I have three other teachers who need to use this webspace but they are not WordPress savvy. I have created a simple mail form that will allow them to go to a server *I OWN* and post the information which will then be emailed to my wordpress.com “post by email” address.

    The problem is that the mail seems to be lost in a junk filter of some kind because it is coming from a web form.

    Is there any way around this?

    I would also like to use simple HTML tags for things like colors.

    Thanks

    There probably is not. Multiple people have reported that forwarded material from the Post By Email address does not work with WordPress.com. If you gave them direct access to the email account, the posts would probably go up easily.

    The problem is that I have certain HTML that needs to go into the post but the people who are posting have zero experience with that and it would be too time consuming.

    I have set up a PHP form to render the post the way I want it with color and H2 tags but I am currently having to post it manually. This is something I will need to make automatic.

    @ulsankatela
    We cannot even access the PHP or HTML in the underlying templates on wordpress.COM blogs like the one linked to your wordpress.com user name, let alone, edit it. Please see here so your are aware of the differences between free blogs being free hosted by wordpress.COM, and free sodtware installs from wordpress.ORG that are web hosted (paid hosting) by anyone other than wordpress.COM.

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

    The PHP script is on my own server. It renders HTML and sends it in an email to be posted to WordPress. But it appears it is being blocked by some spam filter.

    Even putting it through a GMail auto-forward doesn’t do the trick.

    I think you’ll have to contact staff directly and ask them for some help. There may in fact not be any workaround for forwarded material by design.
