Post by Email Not Working Correctly

    First of I’m sorry if this is in the wrong place not sure where questions like this should end up.

    Now onto what I seem to be having difficulty with. When I send messages to be posted via email the messages don’t seem to come through correctly. I will show you what I mean. When for example I send:

    ((World))

    ::This message should be sent::

    I get this appear on the blog:

    This message should be sent

    Now is this normal behaviour, stripping these characters. If not any ideas what’s causing the problem. If it is normal is there anything I can do? I have full access to my own WordPress install so editing files won’t be a problem.

    Just as a note I’ve tried sending messages from hotmail and my own mail system both do the same. This is also regardless of it being plain text, html or rich text.

    Not to worry folks seem to have solved my problem. Wp-mail.php strips the :: and certain other bits from an email when its posted so with a bit of hacking around I’ve managed to get it to post exactly what I wanted.
