post by email not working (Jan 2013)

    The feature “post by email” is not working on my newly set-up blog. I tried the first generated private email address with several emails but nothing. Tried regenerating the email address but still nothing. Tried sending from different email addresses and from different computers/ISPs but nothing.

    Any hints, clues, suggestions?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    I just did an email test post to a testing blog I have had for a couple of years and the email posted fine

    I have no idea (and no clues) why it’s not working on my blog. I just created another email address: [removed] and sent two emails off, but nothing–no spam or bounce in my email box, nothing new in my list of posts, just a big nothing. Wondering if Akismet is filtering my email, but of course no way for me to know. I have 0 spam.

    If you want to test the email address above, go ahead. I’m curious to see if it works for you.

    The email address was redacted for security reasons – however the staff can see the original address – the original was just hidden from view

    PS – the staff can also see your dashboard of your blog and can fetch the email address from their also

    Could you please give it another try and let me know once did that? This way I can check if the e-mail got stuck in the tubes somewhere.

    We’ve received the e-mails you’ve been sending through the post-by-email address, but they are marked as spam. Which e-mail client are you using when sending those e-mails? or are you using a script?

    @kardotim – would you please remove the post by email links above and suggest to the OP that they regenerate the post by email address when you are done with troubleshooting to keep spammers out?

    Sorry about that, done! @judic, as suggested by auxclass please generate a new post-by-email address. It’s not necessary to post the new address in this thread.

    Thanks all. Once I heard that access was not a problem, I changed the email address and tested from the new one. The one referenced above is no more.

    Emails were sent from two different Macs using Apple Mail. Some were sent using “send again”–to new WP email address and from my own email account. However, some were sent by copy+paste body, typed subject, and a couple of tests were freshly created (no copy+paste at all).
