Hi there is a strange phone number associated with the post by voice. Is that the number I am supposed to call? or is this an assumption it is my number? If your program thinks this is my number – how do i change it?

As a forum volunteer, I’m unable to see the phone number that you are referring to, but WordPress will generate a phone number that you can call, enter your security code, and dictate a blog post. So, I’m assuming that the phone number you mention is the number that you should call.

Hey – Thanks for getting back to me… that is awesome!
I read through the support page. TY. uhmm it is the number associated to the wordpress – it was a 734 and they kept trying to send it a code. When you hit enable it automatically goes through this process. That is when it hit me – whatever code they are sending is going to that 734 number – i think 734 is Tenn I think not sure, only been once. It doesn’t seem to allow me to edit the phone number it is sending the code to – so – might you know how to edit the phone number associated to the account?

WordPress.com does not use your phone number for the Post by Voice.
When you click the “Enable” button (you can find that in the link above), WordPress displays a phone number, and below that it says Enter: with a number.
You’ll want to call the phone number, enter that code when prompted (use the keypad on your phone) and then you can record your blog post.
I just tested it on my site, and they don’t send you any code to your phone. Only the code that displays on your WordPress dashboard.
