    Hi There!

When it happens, the only way to reach the block settings again is switching to list view. https://i.imgur.com/aVtSJsZ.png

    Hi there!

Can you point us to which widget on your website is using that post carousel? Once we have that information, we’ll take a closer look and be better able to advise.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    it is “Full-Width Footer” widget.

  • Hi, I might be looking at the wrong thing, but I see a full-width footer on your site that has controls hidden, and it seems to be showing up without an issue.

Can you let us know what browser you’re using to test this?

    Firefox (up to date)

The gif above shows exactly the issue. If i hide the controls, whole the block disappears on edit panel. (not on homepage)

    Regarding this:

When it happens, the only way to reach the block settings again is switching to list view.

I logged into your site (MacOS/Latest Chrome) and I don’t have that same behavior:

Could you let us know what operating system and browser (and versions of each) you’re using? Once we have that information, we’ll be better able to advise.

    Thanks!

    Windows 10 Home 21H2
    Firefox 102.0.1

it effects also Customizer Panel in Firefox as well as in WordPress Desktop app.

tried with Chrome on same machine and works well (same result as yours)

    Thanks for that!

This seems to be a problem with the Karuna theme, as it has not been updated since July 2018, well before the Block Editor and Block Widgets in the WordPress software were created. As the WordPress software evolves and is updated, many older themes end up with conflicts or things break unexpectedly. Since these older themes are no longer receiving updates, they’ll eventually be incompatible with the most recent version of WordPress.

Looking at your homepage, it looks like you would be a good candidate to switch to a new theme that takes advantage of Full Site Editing which would allow you to use template blocks and have more control over the layout and content of your site.

If you want to give it a try, I would recommend creating a new site and trying out a new theme that takes advantage of the newest features built into WordPress.

Otherwise, if you want to stick with Karuna, you need to use Chrome to modify those widgets so you can see the configuration options going forward. However, as more time passes, more things will likely break as the WordPress software is further updated and improved.

    I hope that clarifies things.

    Hi,

I am intrigued by the idea of setting up a new site to try out FSE.

    Thanks for this detailed clarification.

You’re welcome! You can do some pretty interesting things in FSE, so have fun! :)
