Post Category not assigning when saved or scheduled

  When I try to assign an existing category to a post I’m drafting, the category title/group gets added to the tags, but the category boolean doesn’t stay selected. So the next time I try to edit or schedule the post, it appears as “uncategorized.” Even when previewing the post.
