Post Content block not working

    Hi,
    I wanted to add a ‘Table of contents’ to some of my posts based on the Heading blocks, and I thought maybe the right option would be the ‘Post content’ block.

    However, when I add that to a post it says ‘Block cannot be rendered inside itself.’ I am not very sure what that means. I tried publishing the post and then could not see the block.

    Please can you let me know how to add a table of contents and help me understand why the ‘post content’ block is not working?

    The post content block is meant to be used primarily in a query -a list of posts, or in a template. This is a new block meant for using the block editor to create post and page layouts, not to display a table of contents. We’ll let the development team know it’s showing in the post editor block options for you incorrectly.

    There’s no automatic way to generate a table of contents, but if you can share your post (either published or draft) that you’re trying to get one set up, we can better advise how you can create one for your post.
